I'm sure it is very difficult for anyone to be a single parent. I am married and don't have time as a parent. You might all want to ponder how you would all cope if that happened to you.

Re: Anyone heard from Chris?
Hey everyone. I am around. I never realized how difficult it would be to find my place in the world after losing my wife. I have made several attempts to move on however each time I quickly lose momentum and become discouraged and without direction. I think I am just now getting to a place where I can see working on projects and magazine articles again, however there are some things that need to happen first. First and foremost I need to get my house in order.
When Hospice came in toward the end of Wendy's life they turned things upside down. Things in the house were moved around so much I can't find anything anymore. To this day I haven't yet gotten everything straight. But I have made much progress. I just need to finish. Once I get the house back in order I will start putting content back on Savage///Circuits and getting back to projects and magazine articles. I appreciate your understanding and patience.

Welcome back Chris --- Re: Anyone heard from Chris?
I Chris, I am happy you stopped by here to visit again.
Do you still have the new puppy? How is it doing?
I hope you didn't eat too much of the chocolates Tumbler sent you.
In regards to putting content back on Savage///Circuits and your site(s) in general, please make your site(s) the way that makes YOU happy !!!
You need to be happy working on your site, remember your site is your hobby, not a second job.
The same goes with your projects and magazine articles, is there something you always wished to build or do, but never took the time to work on? Now is your chance.

Chris, take the time you need.
When I lost my wife it took me over two years before I could go through her drawers and clean out her clothes.
I'm still not sure I have complete closure and it's been 16 years.

Re: Anyone heard from Chris?
I'll be working on the site again very soon as well as my blog (which I completely wiped) and some new magazine articles for Nuts & Volts and Servo Magazine. New projects are forthcoming as well. It's just taken me some time to get my life back together. But I do feel I am at a place where I can move forward once again.

Re: Anyone heard from Chris?
As a follow-up...I have recently started putting content back up on the new Savage///Circuits website. None of what is up is properly formatted or ready yet and I started with the oldest projects for which I have any backup information on, but at least content is going back up.
It's been a steep learning curve on this software and to be honest, I was so tempted to go back to a simple HTML list. But that would have meant no tags or search capability, so I stuck it out with the Joomla software.
So far I just have some of my oldest projects up and I realized I don't have all the data or updated photos for most of it. I will go back tonight and try and clean up the ones I have put up before adding any more content.
I literally had to manually back up everything from the old site by copy and pasting into notepad documents the existing text, download the photos and attachments and saving screenshots of the pages to clarify how I had them formatted (since a notepad document has no formatting).
But mainly I wanted you to know that by the end of May I expect to have Savage///Circuits restored as best as it can be and start putting up new content. There will still be no forums or discussion area (we have this site for that) and I probably won't allow comments...EVER. But of course I will put email links in every post so that people can contact me and if someone asks useful questions or provides valuable information I can always update the article.
