Just an idea i had. I was thinking that what if somehow a 3rd state was added like 0 being 0v, 1 being 2.5v n 2 being 5v for ex. N I did some math n 2 to 32nd is 4.294967296 Gb n a 64 bit system is 1.84467440737*10x19 now if there was a 3 state system a 32 bit could now access 1.8530201885*10x19. Almost as much as a 64 bit system. Advantages are more data room using exhisting space, address lines could access more addresses or be cut down to save room. What could the Propeller now have for space? Just an idea. What does everyone think?

The ZappBots forums are being run on phpBB 3.1.4 software which is different then the vBulletin used on the Savage///Circuits and Parallax forums.
Therefore, things look and work a little different, especially creating posts and uploading images / attachments.
The important thing is we have a place toTalk, Learn and Showcase our projects.

Re: Logic states
When there is a value somewhere between 0 and 1 on/off isn't that called fuzzy logic? and is that part of an A.I. system?

Re: Logic states
There are two different systems that I have seen for ternary (three-state) logic: the first uses negative, zero and positive, and the other uses 0,1 and 2 for the digits. The logic circuits are easier to build with the first system, but I think that most people find the math easier with the second.
I don't remember where I saw the circuit diagrams, but a simple Google search (for "3 state logic circuits") found over 3 million hits. If you want more info, I can try to find the info that I was using for my research.

Joe,
Creative, yes, just not new. (Although, I personally doubt that King Solomon ever thought of ternary logic circuits.

That said, it is still some pretty interesting stuff.

Re: Logic states
See now when I hear 3-state logic, I think of tri-state outputs which are low, high or hi-z. My biggest concern about this proposed logic system is compatibility. No current memory or I/O peripheral chips would work with it. Everything would need to be custom.
I'm only responsible for what I say, not what you understand.
