If you need someone to put it together, and test it out, and use it, I am ready, willing and able.

Not sure I could reconcile the logistics, but it sure sounds good. ;)

First off ROTFLMAO

Ok, I've been thinking and I've got an offer for both of them. Since talking cash or trade, how about I buy you one of those Elegoo Neptune 2 printers?

I tried looking that Z-star up and might be 2 versions of that a 50 MHz & a 75 MHz ver. Happen to know which one it is? Really couldn't find anything.

On getting the printer might take me a little to get it. I haven't posted, but 11-28-21, I lost my mom due to cancer/stroke, and currently paying $457/mo for 4 months to get probate released, but I will try to get it scrapped together ASAP.

I do have a similar spec printer, but its plastic frame, so I'd think the Neptune 2 would be a better offer, plus I need to fix it. The print quality of the Neptune is pretty good, I've not really had an issue with it. Plus I found out that there is a hidden option that you can enable to add a sensor to the machine to help level the bed automatically!!!

That would be great, thank you. Please PM your address to me, and I will get them in the mail soon (still need to get the XP system ready, and I want to B/U some of the stuff I have on the Zenith.) I was thinking of sending one of my ThinkPads (400, or 410.) I put Windows 7 on them, but they all came with XP. Would that work for you?

Unfortunately, I do not know. There is nothing listed on the back saying at what speed the CPU is running. You could run one of those MS-DOS speed test programs, but I have had mixed results with them.

I'm really sorry to hear about your mother, I also lost my mom a couple years ago - it's always difficult.

Also, regarding the Zenith; there are a couple of idiosyncrasies about it: 1) since the CMOS battery (IIRC it is just a 2032 coin cell underneath the keyboard, but check that out to be certain) is dead, you need to go into the setup after unplugging it. You don't need to make any changes, just go in and then exit with saving. and 2) When you push the power button, just push it, not hold it in - this lets it do a proper shutdown (not sure why, since it is running MS-DOS) and then it displays a screen saying to press enter to complete the shutdown.

Ok, I can do that. I will try and get the printer picked up for you ASAP, it's just hard right at this moment, due to the probate thing, but I will get it taken care of, also if you'd pm me back with your shipping I will have one shipped straight to you, as soon as funds allow, but I will put money back to start putting it together. I am getting ready to make payment no 2 of 4, so it's not like a real extended thing. I understand that, always a good idea to clear a device off. I can make Win 7 work for me, its just not fully compatible with somethings on occasion. Thanks!

Ok, I should be able to figure it out. I got some games that are higher speeds, but the other I can make work, I just want my Johnny Castaway screensaver! lol

Thanks. No, its not easy.

I should be able to replace the battery, even if soldering involved. Ok, thanks for the information.

PLOT TWIST! Not only have I NOT assembled by Ender-5, but I just ordered an Ender-3 S1. :o

So now I will have to assemble BOTH!

The guys at work talked me into it...they kept telling me to sell my Ender-5 and get the Ender-3 S1, but I just went ahead and...well, you know...

I use one. Only my Elegoo Neptune 2 at the moment. My Neptune 2D has no room to sit till my desk addition is made, can't wait to get that used, dual extruders, my Tronxy P802M, needs little work, upgrades wouldn't hurt, not totally fond of plastic frame (Its an Anet A8 clone, and one a friend has is the same one), and last I have my needs repaired Printrbot Simple Wood 1504(driver board chips blew and I need to update firmware to make work, wonder if swapping out the microcontroller would be best option??)

That Ender-5 looks like the Neptune X, some differences, but relatively the same. Can't wait to see them and how you like them.

Granz,
Played with the 486 laptop. Works just fine. Funnest part is........ My fience's mom threw out an optical usb mouse with a PS2 port adapter and the MOUSE WORKS with Windows 3,1!!!!! First 486 with a USB port! Sorta. ROTF.

Were you able to get the Zenith HD working? That's great!

I bought a PCMCIA card from eBay that has USB ports, that I bought for my other Z-Star. I haven't gotten it working yet, but Terry Stewart has an article that looks like it may get me going (https://www.classic-computers.org.nz/bl ... -Win98.htm.)
